The Quizizz Alternative for Grown-Up Learners
Quizizz — now Wayground — is excellent at what it does: keeping a class of thirteen-year-olds engaged. Training adults asks for a different product.

Quizizz changed its name to Wayground in June 2025, moving from quizizz.com to wayground.com. Most people still search for the old name, so this page uses both. The product itself did not change direction: it remains a K-12 platform, with a library of teacher-made quizzes, memes and power-ups between questions, avatars, and a rebrand that positions it as a supplemental learning platform for schools and districts.
That focus shows in how it is sold. The individual paid plan is $216 a year for one teacher. School and district pricing is quote-only. The separate business product, Wayground for Business, starts at $75 per month billed annually for up to three seats and limits Essential sessions to 150 participants; the Pro tier lifts that to 1,000 and costs $125 per month billed annually. Nothing in that ladder is priced for a single trainer or a small L&D team that needs one workspace and occasional large sessions.
InsightQuiz approaches the same live-quiz moment from the professional side. One workspace, flat pricing from $14.90 a month, up to 2,000 participants on Business, nine question types including cloze text, sorting, sliders and short answer with fuzzy matching, plus everything that happens after the session: self-paced lessons, multi-lesson courses with a pass mark and a PDF certificate, SM-2 flashcards, AI grading for written answers and a diagnostic report that names the three weakest concepts. Where Wayground is clearly ahead: the size of its ready-made K-12 content library, interactive video, math-specific item types and district rostering through Clever and ClassLink.

A classroom product and a training product
Wayground optimizes for a room of school students: power-ups, avatars, redemption questions, a memes feed between items and a library where a teacher can grab a ready-made set on photosynthesis in ten seconds. Those are the right decisions for that audience, and they are exactly the decisions that make the tool awkward in a compliance briefing, a university lecture or a sales enablement session.
InsightQuiz assumes the people in the room are adults who need to demonstrate something. Questions are scored and diagnostic rather than gamified; a session ends with a knowledge-gap report rather than a podium; a course ends with a pass mark and a dated PDF certificate you can hand to an auditor; and content can run inside Canvas, Brightspace or Moodle with the grade written back automatically. It is the same live-quiz mechanic pointed at a different outcome.
